Built for Production Gear Shaping

m0.25 · Disc Type — Grade A Shaper Cutter

Grade A tooth accuracy

Ground to Grade A per GB/T 6081 and DIN 3968 — the accuracy grade finishing and pre-shaving operations are built on.

M35 cobalt HSS

M35 high-cobalt substrate holds edge hardness in production shaping, for stable cutting performance heat after heat.

TiAlN coating

TiAlN coating extends tool life in gear steels; TiCN available where the application calls for it.

Cut to your gear

Disc-type for internal gears and hubs — module, pressure angle, tooth count and bore ground to your gear drawing.

Built for Internal and External Gears

The disc-type shaper cutter is the classic solution for internal gears: mounted on the shaper spindle, it reciprocates through the bore and generates teeth where no hob can reach. The GS-302B (module m0.25) is ground to Grade A per GB/T 6081 and DIN 3968, so finishing passes hold tooth profile accuracy and pre-shaving passes leave the consistent stock that shaving requires. Pressure angle, tooth count and bore are ground to your gear specification. M35 cobalt HSS with TiAlN coating keeps the edge stable in production runs across steel gear materials.

The GS-300B disc series covers modules m0.2–m1.2 in Grade A. Tell us your module, pressure angle, tooth count, bore and gear material — or send the gear drawing for a quotation.

Frequently Asked Questions

GS-302B gear shaper cutter

What does Grade A mean for a gear shaper cutter?

Grade A is the highest accuracy grade for shaper cutters under GB/T 6081 and DIN 3968, defining tight tolerances on tooth profile, pitch and runout — the foundation for finishing gears to fine quality grades and for pre-shaving operations where the shaving tool follows the shaped profile.

Can the GS-302B cut internal gears?

Yes — internal gears are the disc-type shaper cutter’s home ground. The GS-302B mounts on the shaper spindle and generates teeth by reciprocating through the bore, cutting internal gears, splines and external gears, including profiles close to shoulders that gear hobs cannot reach.

TiAlN or TiCN — which coating should I choose?

TiAlN is the standard coating, suited to most steel gear materials for heat resistance and wear life. TiCN is available where the application calls for lower friction or specific workpiece materials — tell our engineers your gear material and we’ll recommend.

Why aren’t pressure angle and tooth count listed?

Disc-type shaper cutters are made to order: pressure angle, tooth count, bore and hub dimensions are ground to your gear specification rather than stocked as fixed standards. Send the gear drawing — or just the module, pressure angle, tooth count and bore — for a quotation.
