Milling cutters for trimming, slotting, profiling, and edge finishing in cured carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) components — selected around the laminate, part support, cut direction, edge-quality target, and dust-extraction strategy.
Carbon fiber is not one uniform workpiece. Tool selection should reflect laminate construction, thickness, resin system, feature geometry, machine conditions, and the condition required on both faces of the part.
Dense cutting-edge patterns can be evaluated for trimming and routing where fiber control and edge condition are priorities.
Opposed cutting action can be considered when both laminate faces require support during edge trimming or profiling.
Geometry can be configured for contouring, chamfers, radii, and finished-edge requirements after the feature is reviewed.
Special diameters, reaches, profiles, and shank configurations can be developed from an approved component or tool drawing.
Provide the component drawing, laminate and resin description, thickness, stack construction, operation, tolerance, required edge condition, machine and holder, spindle capability, fixturing, extraction method, and expected volume. Include photographs or samples of current fraying, breakout, heat damage, or rapid tool wear when available.
