Cutting Tools for Honeycomb Core Shaping and Finishing
Purpose-built tools for slicing, contouring, pocketing, drilling, and finishing aramid-paper honeycomb core and sandwich structures — selected around cell size, core density, skin material, feature geometry, fixturing, and edge-quality requirements.
Honeycomb machining depends on more than nominal dimensions. The core construction, skins, adhesive condition, support method, cutting direction, and finished-cell requirement all influence tool and process selection.
Knife-style and slicing geometries can be evaluated for straight cuts and controlled separation of unsupported core.
Milling and routing configurations can be developed for pocketing, contouring, and shaping supported core sections.
Circular and special hole features can be reviewed around cell condition, backing support, skin stack, and finished-edge needs.
Special radii, tapers, stepped features, and interface geometry can be produced from an approved drawing after process review.
Provide the core material and supplier designation, cell size, density, core thickness, skin material and thickness, adhesive or cured-stack condition, feature drawing, tolerance, desired edge condition, cutting direction, machine, fixturing or backing method, and expected volume. Identify whether the operation is on bare core or a bonded sandwich panel.
