Indexable Reamer Type C – RoughingInternal coolant

A877 Hydraulic Cartridge Valve Cavity Reamer (Size 04, 3-Way Valve): A high-precision cutting tool designed for machining cavities in hydraulic cartridge valve blocks, primarily used to enhance dimensional accuracy, geometric precision, and surface finish for multi-diameter bores. Used for the precision machining of cartridge cavities in Danfoss hydraulic valve blocks, including the reaming of guide bores, fluid passages, and valve seat bores. It ensures high dimensional accuracy, meeting the hydraulic system's stringent requirements for sealing and functionality. Suitable for various applications: A single tool body accommodates different diameters, enabling the efficient, precision reaming of multiple hole sizes. Thanks to the brazed cermet cutting inserts, wear is minimized, resulting in an extended service life. Cavity tool types: HSS (Type A) / Morse taper shank (Type B) / Carbide (Type C) / Indexable insert (Type D) / Brazed tip (Type E) / Brazed cermet (Type R) / Brazed PCD (Type F).

Engineering Features

Design details engineered for accuracy, tool life and process stability.

Long service life

Thanks to the indexable inserts, the cutting edge is resistant to chipping during interrupted cuts, and the tool body offers greater stability, minimizing vibration. It is particularly well-suited for machining cast surfaces, porous materials, and non-homogeneous materials.

Significant cost advantage

Each insert features multiple cutting edges; when an edge wears, the insert can simply be indexed to a new position. The tool body offers a long service life, reducing tooling costs per valve body by 30–50%.

Enhanced stability for internal cavity machining

Various design options are available, including extended tool bodies, internal cooling, and vibration-damping structures. After an insert change, dimensional accuracy is restored to that of a new tool.

The A877/D4100 indexable pocketing tool features a repeatable indexable design that delivers high material removal rates and excellent impact resistance. With inserts that can be indexed multiple times for reuse, it is particularly well-suited for castings and heavy-stock removal applications, significantly reducing the cost per part.

The A877 and D4100 comply with Danfoss cartridge valve technology standards—covering control valves, distribution valves, relief valves, directional valves, and more—and are suitable for valve bodies made of heat-treated alloy steel with a hardness exceeding HRC 35.

Compared to solid carbide cavity tools, this system offers superior wear resistance and supports higher speeds and feeds. Features include inserts with negative rake angles or reinforced cutting edges, and a tool body with a highly rigid, integral structure. When an insert wears out, it can simply be indexed to a new edge.
