UNF American Thread Taps
The GP105 is a professional-grade forming tap specifically designed for chipless tapping of metric threads according to ISO 261/ISO 68-1 standards. During machining, the material undergoes cold working, resulting in a denser and smoother thread surface, reducing surface roughness and improving thread performance. It significantly improves machining quality and production efficiency, especially with hard materials, precision workpieces, or complex processes. It is particularly suitable for applications in the automotive, aerospace, machinery, and hydraulic industries where high precision of metric or imperial threads is required. It performs exceptionally well in high-efficiency machining and with complex materials.Since there is no cutting process, the threads produced by extrusion taps are burr-free and suitable for workpieces with high surface quality requirements.

Design details engineered for accuracy, tool life and process stability.
Grinded using a high-precision thread grinder, the thread profile accuracy is controlled within ±0.01mm, the thread surface finish can reach below Ra0.2μm, and the thread connection strength is increased by 20% compared to cutting taps.
Coatings such as TiAlN, TiCN, TAD, TiN, and DLC are available, with a maximum hardness of HV3400 and a friction coefficient as low as 0.15. Tool life is extended by 2-3 times compared to uncoated taps.
High-speed steel (HSS) and high-performance high-speed steel (HSSE) base materials, combining high toughness and red hardness, suitable for tapping general-purpose plastic materials such as aluminum alloys and low-carbon steel.
Threads are formed by plastic deformation of the workpiece material through extrusion, producing no chips and avoiding chip clogging and workpiece scratches. This is especially suitable for tapping blind holes.
Forming taps hold a vital position in modern manufacturing due to their advantages such as high-quality thread forming, enhanced strength, long tool life, and chip-free machining. They are particularly advantageous in scenarios requiring high efficiency, environmental friendliness, and high precision machining.
Due to the lower cutting force, lubricant requirements are typically lower, further reducing pollution and costs in production.
In blind hole machining, it prevents chip accumulation at the bottom of the hole, improving machining efficiency and quality.
Extrusion tapping produces no cutting waste, reducing environmental impact and making it more environmentally friendly.
