General Questions

We manufacture a full range of precision cutting tools including carbide drill bits (straight flute, deep-hole, and custom geometry), carbide and HSS end mills (square, ball nose, T-slot), high-precision reamers, thread milling cutters (metric, inch, orthopedic profiles), carbide and HSS taps, hydraulic cavity boring tool sets, port tools (SAE J1926, ISO 1179, ISO 6149), carbon fiber milling cutters, and ultrasonic cutting blades. All tools are produced on Walter and Rollomatic CNC tool grinding machines.

Our tools are designed and coated for a wide range of workpiece materials including:

Our standard tolerance capabilities:

  • Diameter tolerance: ±0.002 mm (tighter on request)
  • Runout (TIR): < 0.003 mm
  • Length tolerance: ±0.05 mm
  • Surface finish: Ra 0.2 μm or better

For high-precision applications such as medical implant tools or hydraulic cavity reamers, we can work to tighter tolerances — please specify your requirements in the RFQ.

Our standard catalog tools are pre-designed SKUs with fixed geometry, coating, and dimensions — suitable for common machining operations. They typically have shorter lead times and lower minimum order quantities.

Custom tools are engineered and ground to your specific drawing or application requirements. These include non-standard diameters, special point geometries, modified flute designs, or proprietary profiles. Custom tools require a drawing or detailed specification submitted via the RFQ form.

Yes. We use different carbide substrate grades depending on the application:

  • Fine grain carbide — for hardened steel, stainless, and precision applications
  • Ultra-fine grain carbide — for micro tools and high-precision reamers
  • Medium grain carbide — for general purpose drilling and milling
  • HSS-E (Cobalt HSS) — for taps and HSS end mills in tough materials

The grade is selected based on your workpiece material and cutting conditions. Our engineers will specify the correct grade with your quote.

 

Yes. For custom tools, we recommend starting with a prototype or small sample batch (typically 2–5 pieces) before committing to full production. This allows you to test performance in your application and confirm the geometry before we scale up. Sample lead times are typically 7–10 business days.

  • Describe your workpiece material and application

Our engineering team will review your request and respond within 24 hours on business days with a detailed quotation.

For the fastest and most accurate quote, provide:

Required:

  • Tool type (drill, end mill, reamer, tap, etc.)
  • Diameter and length
  • Quantity (prototype or production)
  • Workpiece material

Helpful to include:

  • Engineering drawing (PDF, DXF, DWG, STEP)
  • Required tolerance and surface finish
  • Preferred coating
  • Machine type and spindle speed range
  • Existing tool reference (competitor part number is fine)

Even if you don’t have a complete drawing, describe your application and our engineers will help develop the specification.

We accept: PDF, DXF, DWG, STEP (.stp), IGES (.igs), and SolidWorks (.sldprt). If you only have a sketch or photo, upload it and we will work from there.

For smaller quantities than listed, contact us — we accommodate trial orders for new customers.

 

We accept:

  • T/T (Bank Wire Transfer) — standard for international orders
  • PayPal — available for smaller orders
    Western Union — available on request
  • L/C (Letter of Credit) — available for large orders over $5,000

Payment terms for new customers: 50% deposit, 50% before shipment. Established customers may negotiate net terms.

All quotes are issued in USD. We can also provide quotes in EUR on request. Final invoice currency is agreed at time of order confirmation.

Modifications to standard catalog orders can be accommodated if production has not yet started. For custom tools, once grinding has begun, modifications may incur additional costs. Cancellations after production starts are subject to material and labor costs incurred. Contact us as soon as possible if you need to modify or cancel.

Custom & OEM

Yes — this is a core part of our business. Submit your drawing via the RFQ form and our engineering team will review it for manufacturability, provide feedback if needed, and issue a quote with lead time. We manufacture to your exact geometry, coating, and tolerance specification.
Yes. We offer full OEM manufacturing — your tools, your brand, your packaging. We sign NDA agreements to protect your IP and proprietary designs. Minimum quantities for branded OEM orders are typically 50–100 pieces per SKU, but this is negotiable depending on the tool type and total order size.
Yes — this is our ODM service. You describe your application, workpiece material, machine setup, and performance requirements. Our engineering team designs the tool geometry, selects the carbide grade and coating, and provides a drawing for your approval before manufacturing begins. ODM is ideal for customers who know the result they need but not the tool specification to achieve it.
Yes. We routinely sign NDA agreements for OEM customers and custom tool development projects. Please request this when submitting your RFQ and we will include the NDA with the quotation package.

Hydraulic Cavity Tooling

We manufacture cavity boring tool sets for the following brands’ cartridge valve cavities:

  • SUN Hydraulics — T-2A through T-64A series
  • Hydra Force — VC08 through VC42, HVC series
  • Bosch Rexroth — CA-08A through CA-20G series
  • DanFoss — CP and SDC series
  • Parker Hannifin — C-series cartridge cavities

If your required cavity is not listed, send us the cavity drawing and we will produce the tooling.

Each cavity tool set typically includes:
  • Roughing tool — for fast material removal in the initial bore
  • Finishing tool — for final diameter, tolerance, and surface finish
  • VHM solid carbide option — for highest precision requirements
Sets are sold as complete kits or as individual tools depending on your preference. All tools are supplied with the technical drawing of the cavity they are designed for, available in our Download Center.

Roughing tools remove the bulk of material quickly. They are designed for high feed rates and long tool life, leaving a small stock for the finishing pass.

Finishing tools are ground to the final cavity dimension with tight tolerances and produce the precise diameter, taper, and surface finish required for the cartridge valve to seat and seal correctly. Using both tools together is the standard process for achieving specification-compliant cavities efficiently.

Hydraulic cartridge valves rely on a metal-to-metal or O-ring seal between the valve body and the machined cavity. If the bore is oversize, the valve will leak under pressure. If undersize, the cartridge cannot seat. If the surface finish is too rough, O-rings may fail prematurely.

Our cavity tools are designed to hit the tolerance window specified in each manufacturer’s cavity drawing — typically ±0.005 mm or tighter — and achieve the required Ra surface finish in the bore.

Yes. All supported cavity drawings are available in our Download Center as PDF files. These show the nominal dimensions, tolerances, and surface finish requirements for each cavity series. You can use these to verify your machined bore during production.

Quality & Certification

Every tool goes through a multi-stage quality process:

  • Raw material inspection — carbide rod diameter, grade verification
  • In-process checks — geometry measurement after each grinding stage
  • Final CMM inspection — full dimensional report on critical features
  • Visual inspection — edge condition, coating uniformity, surface quality
  • Runout check — TIR measured on every batch

Inspection reports are available on request and included automatically with OEM and high-precision orders.

We are currently working toward ISO 9001 certification. Our quality management system follows ISO 9001 principles and our inspection equipment and processes meet the standard. Certification is expected to be completed in the near term. Please contact us for the current status.

Our inspection capabilities include:

  • CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) — for dimensional verification
  • Tool presetter — for length and diameter measurement
  • Surface roughness tester — Ra measurement on cutting edges and bores
  • Runout tester — TIR measurement on all rotating tools
  • Optical comparator / profile projector — for geometry verification
  • Hardness tester — for incoming carbide material verification
Yes. On request we can provide:
  • Material certificate — carbide grade and composition
  • Dimensional inspection report — CMM results for your order
  • Coating certificate — coating type and thickness confirmation
  • Certificate of conformance — confirming tools meet specified requirements
  • Please request these documents when submitting your order.

Yes. All tools are warranted against manufacturing defects — incorrect geometry, coating failure, or dimensional non-conformance — for a period of 90 days from delivery. Warranty claims require return of the tool and an inspection report.

Warranty does not cover tool wear from use, breakage due to improper cutting parameters, or damage from improper handling or storage.

Delivery & Logistics

We ship worldwide. Our primary markets include the United States, Germany, United Kingdom, France, Spain, Mexico, Brazil, Singapore, Australia, and Southeast Asia. If you are in a country not listed, contact us — we ship to most countries via DHL, FedEx, or UPS international.

Lead times are confirmed at time of quotation and start from receipt of deposit and approved drawings.

We ship via DHL, FedEx, and UPS for international express delivery. For large or heavy orders we can arrange sea freight or air cargo through our freight forwarder. Tracking numbers are provided for all shipments.

All orders ship on DAP (Delivered at Place) terms by default — meaning you are responsible for import duties, customs clearance, and any local taxes in your country. If you prefer DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) or other Incoterms, please specify at time of order and we will arrange accordingly.

Yes. We provide:

  • Commercial invoice
  • Packing list
  • Certificate of origin (on request)
  • HS tariff code classification
  • Material certificates (on request)

For US customers: our tools typically fall under HS Code 8207 (interchangeable tools for machine tools). We can confirm the correct code for your customs broker.

Yes. If you have a preferred freight forwarder in China or a consolidation warehouse, we can ship directly to that address. Provide the address and any reference numbers required at time of order.

Yes. If tools are dimensionally or geometrically non-conforming compared to the agreed specification, we will replace them at no cost. Return shipping for non-conforming tools is covered by us. Please contact us within 30 days of receipt and provide an inspection report or photos documenting the issue.
Yes. Our regrinding service is available for carbide end mills, drills, reamers, and thread milling cutters regardless of the original manufacturer — as long as the tool geometry is within our machine capabilities. Contact us with the tool specs and quantity for a regrinding quote.
