Raw Material Incoming

Every carbide rod and PCD blank is inspected on arrival — hardness (HRA), TRS bending strength, grain size analysis and chemical composition verified against mill certificates before entering stock.

  • Hardness: HRA ≥ 92.5 (K10–K20)
  • TRS: ≥ 3,500 N/mm²
  • Grain size: 0.4–0.8 µm submicron
  • Certificate: traceability to heat number

5-Axis CNC Grinding

Walter Helitronic Vision 400L and Rollomatic GrindSmart 830XW grinding centres produce the complete tool geometry in a single setup — flutes, clearances, point geometry and chamfers — eliminating repositioning errors.

PVD / CVD Coating

PVD / CVD Coating

In-house Hauzer and Platit PVD arc-evaporation units apply TiAlN, AlTiN, TiCN and DLC coatings to customer specification. CVD diamond coating is applied for PCD composite and aluminium tools.

  • Coating thickness: 1–4 µm PVD
  • Deposition temperature: 450–500 °C
  • Adhesion: Rockwell HF1–HF2
  • Batch traceability — lot-coded
Optical Inspection

Optical Inspection

Zoller Genius 3 and Genius 700 tool measuring machines inspect 100% of production. Point angle, helix angle, core diameter, runout, edge radius, flute form and coating uniformity are verified against the nominal drawing.

  • Runout tolerance: ≤ 0.003 mm
  • Edge radius measurement: ±0.001 mm
  • 100% production inspection — no sampling

CMM Dimensional Verification

Mitutoyo Crysta-Apex CMMs perform full 3D dimensional verification on first-off and statistical sampling during production. Aerospace and medical orders receive 100% CMM with full dimensional report.

Final Packing & Shipment

Tools are laser-marked with a lot code, individually foam-packed, and shipped with a Certificate of Conformance (CoC), dimensional report and material certificate. DDP shipping to 50+ countries.

Cutting Performance Testing

In-house machining trials on Haas VF-4 and DMG Mori NLX machining centres — tool life, surface finish, and cycle time documented before product release.

  • Workpiece materials: steel, stainless, cast iron, aluminium, titanium, composites
  • Surface finish Ra measurement on every trial

Wear and Failure Analysis

SEM/EDS scanning electron microscopy for failure analysis and coating adhesion evaluation — used during product development and for warranty investigations.

  • Flank wear, crater wear, edge chipping classification
  • Root cause reports within 5 business days

Coating Adhesion & Hardness

Rockwell scratch adhesion testing (HF scale), Vickers micro-hardness of substrate and coating, and cross-section coating thickness via SEM — all per ISO 26443.

Dimensional & Geometric Metrology
